Nepal have taken a major step in their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup by unveiling a 24-player training camp squad that will shape their final selection for the global showpiece.
The camp will help selectors trim the group down to the final 15 players ahead of the tournament, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, starting on February 7.
Core Group Retained After Historic Success
Nepal have retained the core of the squad that impressed earlier this year, including the 16 players who secured a memorable 2–1 T20I series win over the West Indies, underlining the team’s growing confidence at international level.
Star all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee, pace spearhead Sandeep Lamichhane, captain Rohit Paudel, and explosive batter Kushal Bhurtel headline the squad.
Eight additional players, including Sher Malla, Binod Bhandari, Abinash Bohara and Bashir Ahmed, have been drafted into the group following strong performances in the Nepal Premier League.
Back-to-Back World Cup Appearance
Nepal qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup after an unbeaten run at the Asia-Pacific Regional Final in Oman and will feature in the tournament for the second consecutive edition and third time overall.
They have been drawn in Group C, where they will face heavyweight opposition in England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Italy.
